June 2023 Report from Simbarshe Gondo

Grace mercy and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  

Our winter season this year exceeded other years the maximum and the minimum temperatures were 15 and 3 degrees Celsius respectively. The first week we attended funeral of a brother's son of my wife's step mother. The second week together with my wife we were seriously attacked by cholera. The third week our borehole broke down and we attended it. The fourth week together with the church at Bazel we footed to Derembwe church of Christ for a Sunday fellowship. Two families were added to the Lord's church at Bazel and bro Gamunorwa is participating to the Lord's church. The end of the month ladies attended a three-day fellowship.

On the 9-10th together with my wife we footed 21 km to Mabvengwa South of Bazel. We attended funeral of Fungai Gorwe aged 36 who left a wife with five children. He died of cholera but people did not know that, the test were done after three days the results confirmed. After we left the place the outcry was many. At first we were not aware of the pandemic and we thought it was food poisoning and we were treated wrongly. After five days we returned to the clinic and received the right treatment. We suffered together with my wife thank God Lister did not eat the food and the family was safe as we were careful not to affect the whole family. Cholera spread the whole place in Mabvengwa and three died including a woman we saw who was cooking food. l want to thank all who prayed for the pandemic we suffered it was a difficult time we faced but we conquered .

The third week we were unfortunate as our borehole broke down. Together with the church we organized immediately to fix it and the total expense was $50 to return it back in use. I was among those who were working when my body was still weak l thank God for the good work we did.

The fourth week 20 church members from Bazel footed to Derembwe church of Christ for a Sunday fellowship. Members from the surrounding congregations attended including Mupudzi, Maruru, Nyakunu, Dangamvura, Hillview. Preachers who attended were 10. Br Mutonhora from Nyanga preached, we were 200 attended and the giving was $40.

The church is growing at Bazel. We have two families who were added to the Lord's church. Chagaka and Chitsiku and Br Gamunorwa is participating a lot to our church projects. He attended two services with us, we pray for his edification. The total church families at Bazel are 35 we thank God for the work we are doing. 
My wife was selected to preach again at a three day fellowship at the end of the month in Mutare town. I was helping her to prepare a sermon and she did a wonderful work. The attendance was 400 ladies. 

At the end of the month l received the support for July Aug and Sept, I want to thank you brothers and sisters for your unending love and support may God bless you and your families.
