Dear Brethren.

Calvary greetings to you all in Jesus’ name. It is almost 2 months to go before we say goodbye to 2025. The month of October was one of the saddest months whereby we witnessed several funerals both in the Lord's Church as well as in the village community. But above all we want to thank God for carrying us through.

ENVIROMENTAL CRISIS

Climate change, pollution, and resources depletion threaten communities worldwide. In the month of October 2025, we experienced hot weather to the extent that in some places in the country like Kariba and Beitbridge recorded 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Farenheit). Then in the last two weeks of October we started to see some strong winds across the whole country with some five schools in Masvingo province reported to have been destroyed by strong winds leaving learners learning in open classrooms.

EVANGELISM WORK

On the first week of October 2025 brother Zumbika, Ndikudzei and I visited Mbiriri village community where we conducted door to door knocking. We set up some Bible lessons with people. Many things have impressed me in working with these two brothers as retired old Christians who loves to spend their time in spreading the gospel to the lost souls. Robert Louis Stevenson once said and I quote, "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant." We planted the seeds in Mbiriri village and knows that it is God who shall give increase.

PRISON MINISTRY

On the second week of October 2025, brother William Mukuze and I visited Littlekraal Farm Prison twice in Nyazura. I taught two Bible lessons whereby brother Mukuze preached two sermons. Later, we managed to distribute 50 English Bibles which I bought from my support I received from you brethren. Both the prisoners and the jail staff were quite very happy.

MISSION FOCUS

On the third week of October, we launched three days as a church to move in the village community distributing tracts to the two schools, at the clinic as well in the village community. During this outreach, we were blessed to reach over 120 souls and enriched over five families, converted two individuals and baptized into Christ.

DEATHS

On Sunday the 19th of October 2025 Joel Ndikudze, one of our church members went to be with the Lord after he was hit by a heavy truck whilst trying to cross the road during the night. He was crushed the whole head to the extent that it was difficult to identify him. He was 36 years old. He left a wife and two children. Then on the same week we also witnessed four deaths in the same village comprised of three elderly men and a young lady who hanged herself after she had some disputes with her stepmother. I managed to attend all these funerals. I was asked to preach at two of these funerals though they were not members of the church.

BUILDING OF BAPTISM TANK

The church is planning to build a baptism tank at the church site. Once all the required materials are on place we will start doing the work. For years we have been struggling to travel long distances for baptism.

CHURCH ATTENDANCE/PREACHING AND GIVING

I preached twice during the month of October and taught adults Bible. Brother Zumbika preached two Sundays whilst brother Nyatsine taught adults Bible class for the last two Sundays. Our average attendance for the month of October ranged from 27 to 31. Our average Sunday collection was 15 dollars per Sunday.

CONGRATULATIONS

We want to congratulate our youths who finished their final grade seven exams on the 10th of October 2025. These are Tawanda Phiri, Ryan Makore, Hilda Chipunza and Adel Zumbika. We want to wish them all well in their results as they will also be starting high school in January 2025.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Pray for our mission work as well as my family. As I write this report, both Peace and his brother Prosper are writing their end-of-year exams.
  • Pray for more rain. Many of our people are in desperate need of food.
  • Need for a vehicle to use for mission work. We really encounter several challenges, especially when one of the church members falls sick or dies. The first person to be called is a preacher. At times we fail to reach the sick person in time because of lack of transport, especially when it is during nighttime. I still remember this year when brother Simba told me to visit him and help to conduct one of the funerals in his village, I totally failed. So, it is our prayers that one day the Lord shall provide.

Above all we want to continue to express our gratitude and thanks to you brothers and sisters at Oregon City for your unwavering financial support and your love. Our mission work and my family would be nothing without your financial support and love. May the Lord continue to shower more blessings upon your families. We love you. The church is praying for our brother Joshua, his parents as well as his girlfriend.

 In Christ,
Nhamo and Brenda Mumba
