In 1999 Stephen Curtis Chapman put out a song titled “The Change”. This song talks about having all the little trinkets and “almost everything a good Christian needs” but the chorus asks the question “what about the change? What about the difference? What about the grace? What about forgiveness? What about a life that’s showing I’m undergoing the change?”

This is a question that we all should ask ourselves everyone once in a while. “Is my life a reflection of me or a reflection of God? Can other people tell that my life is different because of my relationship with God?”

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” We became a new creation when we were baptized. We now belong to God, because of that we need to life for Him. We cannot wake up Monday morning and act like the world. We need to be Christ to the world. The world needs Christ, because of that, the world needs us to act like Christ! This verse in 2nd Corinthians 5 is in the midst of a section talking about how we are ambassadors for Christ to this lost world.

So how can we live a changed life? It starts with prayer. Ultimately, living a changed life means that we need to have the fruit of the Spirit evident in our lives. We need to be full of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness Gentleness, and Self Control. If these things are NOT evident in our DAILY lives, how can we claim to be changed by our relationship with God?
