A friend I’ve known since grade-school was commenting on Facebook. Her sister and her family live in North Carolina. A few are without power and have mud slides around their homes. They are helping where they can. She shared a post from her sister and commented on how great it was that communities and churches are coming together to help.
Her sister had this picture with the comment: “This truck came from Nashville, TN yesterday.”

I have to admit that I felt a great surge of pride seeing that picture. The Oregon City church helps support this relief fund. Many of us know Dale Linge, the preacher at the Washougal church who is the NW coordinator for this fund. During the first 6 months of this year, aid was sent to 35 major disaster areas in 13 states, a total of 63 shipments with a value of over $2.5 million.
This is 1 of 25 trucks sent recently to assist with clean-up from Hurricane Helene. You may know that this hurricane impacted 6 states, with a quarter of a million power outages. Over 200 deaths and hundreds are still missing.
Florida has experienced another very dangerous Hurricane Milton. Food boxes and emergency supplies have already been packed up to be shipped immediately.
Please pray for those experiencing disaster and thank God for those able to help.
