1. Follow your heart
“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately wicked; Who can understand it” (Jere. 17:9)?
2. Just say the sinner’s prayer to be saved
“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved” (Mk. 16:16).
3. Only good people go to heaven
“There is none righteous, not even one” (Rom. 3:23). “For by grace have you been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2:8-9).
4. Only God can judge sin
“First take the log out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye” (Mt. 7:5). “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private” (Mt. 18:15).
5. Church is for those who have their “act together”
“It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance” (Lk. 5:31-32).
6. Follow me and all your problems will go away
“Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Tim. 3:12).
7. All sincere people will be saved
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter” (Mt. 7:21).
8. Be true to yourself
“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me” (Lk. 9:23).
9. Live your truth
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me” (Jn. 14:6).
10. As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul” (Mk. 8:36-27)? “Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony” (Lk. 16:25).
