Grace mercy and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
September marked the begining of the summer season, we received showers of rain and a lot of lightning and thunder. In Masvingo one person recorded as struck down and died.
- The 1st week l witnessed the inauguration of the village head, we attended a fellowship.
- The second week l was doing personal evangelism.
- The third week l attended a tombstone unveiling as well as preparing and hosting the ladies fellowship at Bazel.
- The fourth week l was preparing a sermon to be preached at Chinyamanhanzva church of Christ, as well as preparing to speak at the tombstone of a former preacher of Nyakunu church of Christ.
- At the end of the month l received the support for Oct, Nov and Dec. The church at large, my family and I appreciated all the help you showed may God bless you and your family l thank you.
On the 2nd day of the month l witnessed the inauguration of Mr Tsemuraidombo Maxwell Ringai as village head of Ringai. He replaced his brother Zvichapera who was removed by people. He was accused of many allegations including cheating, bribery, stealing and adultery. This event was my first time to attend. The practice which was practiced was pagan whereas the beer was poured on his head and the whole body, he was instructed not to bath till the next day. We gave him some gifts as a way of accepting him to lead the whole village. His role is to save and to solve the issues of the people. If you fail to respect him you will be fined with money or chickens and goats. People who attended were 800. Lunch was provided.
The 3rd day, 20 members from Bazel hired a pick up to attend a big Sunday fellowship at Nyakunu church of Christ. We delayed our travel since the first transporter let us down when the time was late. We struggled to find out others until we find another. We were blessed to be there as we received a good sermon from Br Kuzipa from Hillview church of Christ in Mutare urban. We were 120 people attended and the giving was $20.
On the second week l was doing personal evangelism evangelism as l visited sister Chadzingwa, Kanyimo, Chinzvende, Mukahanana, Chiwedere and Chin'ono, l was able to strengthen them to hold fast. If you take time without visiting them their attendance to church will be affected too.
On the 16th together with my wife, sister Chin'ono, Mandianike and Chiwedere, Chinzvende attended a tombstone unveiling of seven graves of Mutsoni family. Sister Mutsoni invited the church to be present even though the program was in the hands of other denomination. l helped them a lot since the preacher was new and not familiar to the event. The people who attended were 350. In these events this is where we have new converts in the church and good relations in the villages.
The whole church at Bazel were busy and particular to the fellowship which was held on the 23rd of this month. It took us some time to prepare food to feed the 170 people who attended. Men and youths came to church to prepare food while all of our ladies were attending the church services. The lady who preached was from Sakubva church of Christ and the one who taught a lesson was from Chigodora. The ladies were happy with the reception we gave them in their return they appreciated much. Our tomatoes were the last to be picked at this event, the giving was $25.
I was selected to preach in the morning and the midnight on the 30th at Chinyamanhanzva church of Christ which is 18 miles east of Mutare town. My sermon was similar the same distance from Jericho to Jerusalem my subject was, "What do you want me to do for you today?" Mark 10:46-52 - I did a good job.
In the morning l preached at Derembwe where Br Maraire was buried. When we were going to Chinyamanhanzva we involved in a car accident. Br Gwazaza was driving his lsuzu twin cab, unfortunately he stopped and moved out of his car forgetting to put a hand break or put his car in gear it started to move back to a sloppy ground, he noticed it late as it moved with much speed, he tried to move back to his car it was too late as he fell just close to his car, his legs was so close to the wheel . I was at the back of the car with my wife, thank God it went to a fence that's how it stopped, no one was injured.
The church at Bazel is moving forward as far as the church construction is done. I bought some deformed bars, brick force and some chairs to the church. Others contributed some cement and are enough to complete the lintel level. Mr Chidzikwe my builder who constructed our house will be doing the job at the church as he charged $70 we will assist him as we agree to come and work with him. At this point in time we only need the builder's payment to start working. Next year our target is to reach up to the gable.
I want to thank you brothers and sisters for the sacrifice you made to support us. May God bless you for the love and patience you displayed.
