For years, the main emphasis I put on the Lord’s supper was the blood. Without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness. It’s the blood of the new covenant. He made peace with us by the blood of the cross. There was much to meditate on when it came to the fruit of the vine. The body? Well, of course He had a body. It was broken. He suffered. It was raised again.
From the virgin birth to the resurrection, the body means so much! He was born. He took on flesh and became a man. Emmanuel. God with us. He dwelt among us. God came to earth.
Of all the religions in the world, Christianity is the only one where God comes searching for us! All world religions are the results of man’s search for God. Where did man come from? Where does he go? Why are we here?  Is this all there is? As one song puts it, “we all knew men went to heaven, but now God has come to earth!”  God came looking for you.
In God’s wisdom He gave us free choice. Did God ever regret doing that? We rebelled. We ran from God. We turned to our own ways. We got lost. We are lost and can’t find our way home. So, God came to us. He came looking for us. He became flesh.
To be a Christian is to be like Christ. It’s to be like God. To be like God is to seek the lost.
